I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH60134294) who works with children, adolescents, and adults through individual, couples, and family counseling in the greater Seattle area.
I hold a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. I obtained my Bachelor's degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA in Biology and Psychology. Over the past 10 years as a counselor, I've worked in various clinical settings from a large integrative medical system to a small non-profit. I also have experience in research helping deliver, test, and develop evidenced based strategies to help inform the treatment community about best practices. I continue to work on a small contract with a wonderful research team through the UW and Seattle VA.
I integrate a variety of techniques, including evidenced based methodologies from CBT, ACT, DBT and MBSR to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each individual's needs and goals for counseling. I enjoy staying current with new research and techniques while merging the learned wisdom gathered in my years of experience working with clients. With compassion and understanding, I remain present and attentive with each client to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Personal Life: As a Seattle native, I love being outside as a way to recharge and replenish myself. I find working in the dirt to be a great stress relief and enjoy nurturing my garden and flowers. In our sessions, you might see a few scratches now and them, often earned by being in the outdoors or a funny attempt at mastering some household repair. When I'm not in the outdoors, I enjoy crafting and spending quality time with friends and family over home cooked meals.
Overall, I believe in striving to lead a balanced life, guided by the values and activities that are important to our own defined lifestyle.
